About Art VR

Our story

How it all started

Once upon a time there were two friends Claire and Maria. They both had similar traits, hardworking, competitive, passionate about their dreams and scared of failure.

Over the course of their 20 year friendship, they saw the high and lows and showed resilience.

However, one day Claire and Maria fell and they struggled to bounce back, something which consumed them, resulting in them not functioning properly, reducing their social interaction, thoughts and feelings of them not feeling worthy and thinking that they were a failure. All they wanted to do was escape from what they were living, close their eyes and pretend it was all a dream and start again. However, when they closed their eyes, they were still living the same experience.

It came to a point when they realised that this was not normal and that sometimes you need to ask for help, and so they spent some time with professionals around them working on their mental health.

You can have the ability to live a normal life, carry out every day tasks, but if you’re in a bad place with your mental health, this can stop you living your life “normally”.

Help Us Create a Sanctuary of Calm in the Storm of Critical Care.

Art VR have been working with the staff at Manchester University Foundation Trust, Children’s Hospital, trialling this therapeutic aid to support their wellbeing and mental health, transporting them to their ‘happy place’ via a virtual reality headset.

The video showcases the incredible work the NHS deliver on a daily basis, and the need for this facility.

Please support our campaign to raise much needed funds to integrate a wellbeing facility into the hospital.
